Excellence 

 Founded by conductor Ada Pelleg, the Israel International Flute Competition has received formal recognition from the Israeli  Ministry of Culture as one of Israel's three International Music Competitions ,and is considered  as one of the  most prestigious and important International Flute Competitions in the world.

Jurors in past competitions include renowned flutists and composers, among them    Yossi Arnheim (Israel), Hans Georg  Schmeiser (Austria), Uri Shoham (Israel), GuoLiang Hahn (China),  Suyong Yang (S.Korea),  Bolent Achbel (Turkey),  Moshe Epstein (Germany / Israel),  Yinam Leef (Israel),  Nabil Aboud Eshkar (Israel) , and  Oded Zehavi (Israel).

Winners of past competitions currently serve as principal flutists in orchestras around the world, among them Jin  Ta (Singapore Symphony) ,Brita Jacobs (German Philharmonic Radio Orchestra in Saarbrücken) , Guy Eshed (Israel Philharmonic), and  Alif Yurdakol (Istanbul Opera).

Many of them also perform as soloists and in chamber music groups.

Education 

The competition's management organizes diverse educational activities, including workshops, master classes and concerts for young flutists in conservatories and music centers throughout the country.

Among the flutists who contributed to educational activities are Sir James Galway who gave concerts and master classes to flutists in Shefar'Am and Jerusalem, Prof. Hans Georg Schmeiser who gave conceerts master classes in Safed and Tel Aviv, and Prof. Yossi Arnheim who gave concerts and workshops in Safed and Haifa.

Exposure 

In years between competitions, the management organizes activities to promote the winners and the competition itself. Activities take place in Israel and abroad.  In recent years, the competition has held concerts in London, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Paris. These concerts have received positive media exposure.

 Co-existence

One of the unique characteristics of the Israel International Flute Competition is its great contribution to the promotion of cultural values ​​and coexistence through music. This contribution is reflected in commissioning new compositions from composers around the world among them from New Zealand , United States , Israel ,  Syria/Germany and Lebanon/France. 

The competition's management also produced  special projects like the CD  Made in Brazil of Contemporary Brazilian Concerti for  Flute , Commissioned by the Brazilian government (With Brazilian flutist James Strauss), Concert Celebrating 65 Years of Israel-France Diplomatic Relations in Paris, commissioned by the Israeli Foreign Ministry (With Israeli Flutist Yossi Arnheim) , and the  Concert for Peace  in London, commissioned by the London Friends of Neve Shalom (With Lebanese/British flutist Wissam, Boustany). 

Stages of competition and educational activities are held  in halls in diverse locations in Israel including Safed, Nazareth, Jordan Valley, Shefar'Am, Haifa, Jerusalem  and Tel Aviv.
